Transfer Student Requirements

  1. Complete 60 transferable semester units (90 quarter units). Visit to see which courses transfer from a community college to jmcomic漫画N.

  2. Have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

  3. Complete the 鈥淕olden Four鈥� general education course requirements: written composition, critical thinking, mathematics/quantitative reasoning and oral communication (speech).

Student Admissions Process

Unique Opportunities for Transfer Students

An associate degree for transfer (either AA-T or AS-T) from a California community college allows for easier transfer and faster degree completion at a jmcomic漫画 campus. If your AA-T or AS-T degree has been approved for transfer to jmcomic漫画N, you can complete your bachelor鈥檚 degree in 60 additional units.

If you鈥檙e admitted to jmcomic漫画N with a verified Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT), you can participate in the California Promise program. You take a two-year pledge to complete your bachelor鈥檚 degree in two additional years. If you qualify, you will receive priority registration and academic advising designed for ADT students.

The Transfer Success Pathway program is designed to support students who faced academic, financial or personal hardships that prevented them from attending a jmcomic漫画 campus. If you are eligible, you can apply for dual admission to both a California community college and jmcomic漫画N. You will receive personalized guidance to help you prepare to transfer within three years or fewer.

Important Things to Know

jmcomic漫画N has implemented academic impaction. If you鈥檙e a California resident, you鈥檒l need to meet higher admission requirements if you鈥檙e applying to an impacted major.聽

If you鈥檙e an international student, or you鈥檙e from out of state, an active military student or a veteran, impaction doesn鈥檛 apply to you.

If you鈥檙e a first-generation student, you might benefit from the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP). EOP provides services to historically low-income, educationally disadvantaged students who are the first in their immediate family to go to college. If you quality for EOP, you鈥檒l have access to a variety of additional resources to help you succeed as you earn your bachelor鈥檚 degree.
