CSBS: Locally Engaged, Globally Prepared
The CSBS College motto is "Locally Engaged, Globally Prepared." This is reflected in all we do ranging from faculty to students. We are the home of educators who are committed to decreasing the distance between communities and campus. Our faculty connect to communities through applied research, internships, and clinics and as a result of engagement with faculty-led initiatives, students are prepared to contribute to solving global problems and competing in global markets.

A Message From Our Dean
Fall 2025
Welcome to the College and a new academic year!Ìý There are some challenges this year - contending with artificial intelligence (AI) and contending with socio-political issues.Ìý However, the College, actually all of higher education, is a bulwark against these and other challenges.Ìý
This is THE College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and we are people-driven.Ìý Therefore, we know that people solve problems. ÌýWe counter belief that technology and economic markets are the only problem solvers.Ìý We invest.Ìý But we invest in people.Ìý Machines neither care, nor are curious.
